History

Safapac (Cambridge) Ltd was founded in 1996, starting out and remaining a family-owned chemical contract manufacturing and packing business. After a relocation ten years later to the current Peterborough site, the name subsequently changed to Safapac Ltd. The business has since continued to grow and flourish, adapting to new markets and meeting evolving customer requirements.

Between the years 2008 – 2012, the Safapac Holdings Ltd umbrella of companies expanded to include a crop nutrition development company (Camari Ltd), a crop nutrition sales branch (Safagrow Ltd) and an international crop sales division (Safapac Asia Ltd), catering for more specialist requirements in the agrochemical field.

Although a clear frontrunner in the manufacture and packing of agricultural products (largely pesticides – insecticides, fungicides, herbicides etc.), the adaptability of the Safapac facility and expertise of staff has allowed it to expand into other markets over the years – notably the veterinary medicine and hard surface cleaner industries.

In 2014, a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system was installed, allowing accurate and real-time batch control information to be generated; individual works orders to be made and all analytical results to be stored. The ‘customer open access’ feature to this system also means customers are informed at every step of the production process.

A new suspension concentrate plant was installed in the summer of 2015, allowing the large scale manufacture of herbicide products. This segregated state-of-the-art chemical blending plant has not only allowed a new product base, but an increased production capacity and turnaround time.

Safapac continues to be a market leader in the chemical contract manufacturing business, and is constantly looking to improve its capabilities and optimise processes.
