Current Vacancies:
Packing Supervisor
Job purpose:
To work with and coordinate packing activities across a rotating shift. Leading and coaching line leaders to achieve their daily targets whist ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained. This role includes coaching line leaders and operators and integrating new and temporary members of staff into the packing department.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Coordination:
- Ensure packing staff are organised and allocated to tasks for efficiency and effectiveness whilst also ensuring rotation of lines and equipment for H&S and training purposes.
- Provide effective communication between management, administrative staff and floor staff and vice versa.
- Support line leaders through providing information, advice and action to ensure lines run smoothly and downtime is minimised.
- Support line leaders to manager their workforce, including temporary labour both directly and through coaching to develop their skills.
- Plan and prepare for upcoming and fill-in tasks for when jobs finish or unexpected downtime occurs.
- Manage the introduction of temporary workers through providing induction, tour PPE and allocation to line leaders.
- Train packing staff to enhance department competence and ensure packing staff complete their required online training including refresher courses and policy/procedure updates.
- Promote consistent housekeeping to keep packing areas clean, safe and organised.
Quality:
- Ensure packing finished products meet company and customer specifications.
- Ensure policies and procedures to avoid cross-contamination and end user safety are followed.

- Ensure strict adherence to site safety procedures and ‘Safapac Golden Rules’ including:
– use of PPE
– an understanding of COSHH and chemical hazards
– responsibilities under COMAH guidelines
– manual handling protocols
- Understand our impact on the environment and ensure:

– minimise the generation of waste
– recycle as much as possible
- Report hazards, near misses, or incidents promptly and accurately.

Packing Line Leader
Job purpose:
To lead and coordinate a team of packing operatives, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality packing operations. This role manages daily activities, maintains compliance with safety and quality standards, drives performance, and fosters a positive and productive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coordination:
- Lead, motivate, and support a team of packing operatives.
- Organise task assignments, rotations and break schedules to maintain workflow efficiency.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching and guidance to team members.
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are consistently met.
- Monitor equipment performance and collaborate with Engineering to resolve issues.
- Maintain clear communication with Supervisors, Production Management, and Quality Control (PQC)
- Record campaign information on ERP system
- Promote consistent housekeeping to keep packing areas clean, safe, and organised.
- Accurately complete records for downtime, incidents, and non-conformance.
Quality:
- Conduct or oversee routine quality checks (e.g. weight, labels, batch codes, cleanliness).
- Ensure packing meets product specification and packaging requirements.
- Monitor handling of materials to avoid cross-contamination and product damage.
- Record and report non-conformances accurately, escalating when necessary.
